I was very impressed with this product. My ground is pretty hard at the moment and I found this easy to use. For the small to medium sized yard this will be perfect.
At $175 AUD I think it is good value considering I do 3 "corer" aerates a year. One for the early spring renovation after a scarify, the others are at early summer when I do a little top dress - this is a very fast repair due to the higher growth rate at summer and also I core late summer, when I do a dethach. The late summer dethatch is also a quick repair.
After you core with this tool, full the holes with sand which has a larger particle structure to allow the water, air and nutrients to get to the root zone much easier. The added drainage will also lessen the chance of getting fungal issues due to water sitting on the lawn and not drying away.
The zinc coating will ensure that corrosion is not an issue.
The square base is solid tubing which gives increased weight to penetrate the ground.
It is a very solid, well thought out and handy product.
