I was hoping to get down some pre emergent herbicide for summer grass and the like, but it was just too windy.
Rather than do nothing, a quick dethatch and mow was the choice. Dethatching is a great way to manage your thatch layer. Not letting the thatch get too thick will allow water, air and nutrients to get into the soil easier and you want scalp the lawn when you do a lower cut mow.
